Hello, I’m Emily.
I was born into a Navy family (or a brat, if you’re familiar with the lingo), and I moved around the U.S. for the majority of my childhood. My family eventually settled in North Texas, which is where I went to college and where my husband Christopher and I decided to live once we got married. Fort Worth has a lot to offer, but my wanderlust has never quite left my bones. Chris and I travel every chance we get.
In my day-to-day life, I am many things. Aren’t we all?
Professionally, I teach Literature at a private, college-prep high school in Fort Worth. Personally, I’m an INFJ; an avid reader; a Ravenclaw; I’m a #petparent to Honey, a golden retriever-border collie mix; and I’m a painfully-amateur photographer of — mostly — landscapes. I’m also a horrible speller. Seriously. And, no, the irony isn’t lost on me.
I started Edits by Emily as a creative outlet. This blog is a place to journal or document my thoughts and experiences, a place to write, a place to practice my photography, and a place to hone my editing skills (in life as well as on the page).
I’m so glad you’re here.
