Recent Reads is a series for me to feature the last five books I’ve read (or experienced) along with my verdicts.

This year, I’ve based my reading goals on Modern Mrs. Darcy’s 2018 Reading Challenge (listed here). I like that I was strategic about my book choices on the front end, and so far, so good. I’ve enjoyed almost every book on my list thus far (I’ve only abandoned one book — more on that in another post), and I’ve left enough room for the spontaneous reads that are starting to crowd my Kindle e-shelf.

Recent Reads / 03

Recent Reads is a series to me to feature five books I’ve read (or experienced) recently along with my verdicts.

This particular group was a win: Four of these five books were selections for my 2018 Reading Challenge, and all five were solid choices. However, I would not necessarily recommend reading these five books in succession since the themes are so heavy. I didn’t plan it that way, and I need a break. I’ve planned for my next few book choices to be more lighthearted and uplifting.

Visiting Italy: Milan City Guide

Milan City Guide

Chris and I had always wanted to visit Italy, so we decided to make the most of our week, visiting as many cities as we could while still slowing down enough to enjoy each destination. We flew into and out of Milan, which made it easy to plan our train travel to other northern Italian cities.

It was a wonderful week. We wouldn’t have changed a thing, and we can’t wait to go back. Here are some notes about traveling to and around Italy, including a Milan city guide. I hope you enjoy!
